FDA Considering Pricey Implant as Treatment for Opioid Addiction

The recent opioid epidemic has called for a better alternative for treatment. This new option would be a system of implanted rods that offer a controlled release of buprenorphine, a drug already used to treat opioid addiction. The most beneficial thing about this treatment is that it can’t be sold in illegal markets and has the potential to help many.
