AARP: Price Hikes Doubled Average Drug Price Over 7 Years

The average cost for a year’s supply of prescription drug doubled in just 7 years to more than $11,000. A study found that prices for existing drugs have been rising due entirely to manufacturer price hikes. These price increases are making it harder for almost everyone to afford their needed medications and the implications are alarming.
